Job Introduction

We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers Honda in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, with Saturdays 8.30am to 12.30pm on a rota basis (1 in 3).

We offer excellent basic salaries up to £34,000 with OTEs up to £43,000 plus benefits, depending on experience. Role and Responsibilities

Our technicians are responsible for servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard first time.

Main responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repairs, such as suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.

Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.

You will be able to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment and understand customer satisfaction's impact on the business.

You will be trained to operate additional systems, such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW), and complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.

You will work closely with other workshop team members to learn and share knowledge continually.

About you

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds with experience in the automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.

Whether you work at an independent garage, fast fit centre, car supermarket, or main dealer, we are interested in talking to you.

Minimum requirements include holding or working towards NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. An Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. A full UK driving license is required.
