Job summary

Pertemps Recruitment Partnership is recruiting a Homelessness Resettlement Officer for Harrow Council. The role focuses on preventing homelessness and arranging temporary and long-term accommodation.

Hybrid working and a 36-hour week apply, with a valid UK driving license and access to a car required. Successful candidates will assess cases, develop PHPs, liaise with landlords, and ensure compliance with statutory duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar housing or homelessness role within a local authority.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation (Housing Acts 1985, 1996; Homelessness Act 2002; Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).
• Good understanding of housing benefit rules and welfare systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored service for households where homelessness duty is accepted and promote alternative housing options.
• Proactively assess homelessness cases to identify prevention opportunities.
• Work directly with individuals and families facing housing crises.
• Provide tailored advice under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs).
• Liaise with landlords and services to secure housing solutions.
• Arrange temporary and settled accommodation as required.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory duties are met.
