Job description

Are you ready to take your skills on the road? As a Home Visits Optical Assistant at Specsavers, you can do just that.

If you love your job but are a bit bored, if you love working with patients but want a new challenge, then this role might be for you.

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care into the heart of your community.

The job is varied: you’ll work in a range of locations and testing environments every day – no two days are the same. Our region covers Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire, Bath, Northeast Somerset, Bristol, and a small portion of Wales (Chepstow and Monmouth).

To meet the needs of our business, our preferred candidate will be based in South Gloucester, Bristol or Bath.

With more 1-on-1 time spent with patients in the place where they feel comfortable, you can really cater to their needs and make a real difference in their lives.

We’re looking for someone driven and approachable; a real people person. You'll need to be able to confidently dispense at all levels and hold a full UK driving licence - which are essential criteria for this role.

Our business

You’ll be providing care to vulnerable patients in their own homes across our territory in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire, Bath, Northeast Somerset, Bristol, and a small portion of Wales (Chepstow and Monmouth).

Our team

We have a wonderful team of dedicated people ready and waiting for you to meet.

What’s on offer?

As well as all the support you need and great training and development opportunities, we have a whole load of benefits on offer for you to enjoy. These include:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week working Monday - Friday 8.30am-5.30pm (flexibility required)
  • Salary £26,800 per annum
  • Company car
  • Bonus Scheme
  • 28 days leave (includes bank holidays)
  • Staff Discount
  • 1 Free pair of glasses per year following successful completion of probation
  • Birthday gift
  • Paid team social events
  • Access to Specsavers Perks
  • Access to WeCare
  • Access to Headspace
