Job summary

The Levels School in Bridgwater, United Kingdom, invites applications for a part‑time Transport Driver to provide home‑school transport to our Etonhurst site. Roles include am/pm routes with occasional cover for absences. You must be able to work with students, travel confidently, and maintain vehicle presentation.

Essentially, a Full Category B Licence is required; those with 6+ penalty points will not be considered. Driver CPC and Digital Driver Card preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full Category B Driving Licence.

• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of learners with differences.

Responsibilities

• Transport students from designated pick up points to school in the morning and return in the afternoon.
• Keep buses/cars clean and presentable at all times.
• Possible transport for sports events, educational trips, or other events with additional payments.

Job description

The RoleThe Levels School is an independent specialist day school offering high quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with a range of complex, specific learning differences that may include speech, language, and communication needs. Our teaching and learning provision would also meet the needs of individuals presenting with a similar learning profile tothosewith dyslexia andotherSpeech and LanguageCommunication difficulties. As a result, many of our students have a range of complex, specific learning, social communication and emotional difficulties.

We are seeking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiasticDriver to work in our thriving co-educational independent specialist day school providing home-school transport to our Etonhurst site. We have positions available for am and/or pm drivers. We would also accept applications from candidates looking for bank driving positions who will be called upon to cover driver absence.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be required to mainly transport our students from designated pick up to points to school in the morning and return them at the end of the school day and help to keep our buses/cars in a suitably presentable condition at all times. There may also be a requirement on occasions to transport students and staff for sports events, educational trips, or other events as required for which additional payments will be made.

Candidates should be able to work well with others as an integral part of The Levels School team to assist a seamless operation of our transport needs whilst being confident in their own abilities to be able to work unsupervised when required.

Although successful candidates will be given a regular route they should have a good knowledge of the local area and be able to assist with alternate routes (route learning will be given) when required.

Working hours: 2 – 3 hours in the morning and afternoon.

The Ideal CandidateEssential Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Driver CPC & Digital Driver Card.

A knowledge of EU drivers hours and an understanding of Working Time Directive rules for Mobile Workers

(Training to gain these qualifications may be available for suitable candidates).
