Job summary

John Lewis is seeking a Home Design Stylist to inspire customers and help them find perfect home decor. You will drive sales in home departments and deliver a personalised shopping experience as part of the John Lewis brand.

Role involves 20 hours per week across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends. A customer-focused, design-savvy individual with IT literacy will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required or may not be for all locations.
• A passion for interior design and the industry.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to use IT systems to communicate with customers and process orders.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of each project, delivering personalised customer experiences.
• Build rapport to understand needs and inspire stunning home décor.
• Follow design trends and latest concepts.
• Support the team to deliver excellent shopping experiences and assist with shop tasks.
• Coach other Partners using home design knowledge to enhance the shopping experience.

About the role

As a Home Design Stylist, you'll work with and inspire customers to find the perfect home decor they'll fall in love with. Helping to drive sales and profit across our home departments and deliver the very best, personalised shopping experience expected of the John Lewis brand.

Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of every new project that comes your way, providing a special and personalised experience for every customer.
• Building rapport with your customers to really understand their needs and taste's and using your expert knowledge of home design to create and inspire stunning home decor for their homes.
• Following trends and keeping up-to-date with the latest design concepts and themes.
• Supporting the wider team to deliver an excellent shopping experience, helping customers and performing general shop keeping tasks.
• Using your knowledge of home design to coach other Partners which, in turn, helps create a unique shopping experience that can only be found at John Lewis.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Full UK driving licence (may not be required for some locations).
• A deep understanding and passion for the interior design industry.
• Great computer literacy skills.
• Ability to use IT systems to communicate with customers, process orders, and complete customer tracking (e.g. Excel, Word, and email).

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Design-related qualification equivalent to a degree.
• Member of a professional body, such as the Association of Interior Design.
• Previous experience using design and creative packages such as Computer Assisted Design (CAD) and 3D roomstyler.
• Experience measuring, estimating, and fitting window treatments.
• Previous experience in interior design roles.

20 hours of part time work across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends, including Saturdays.
