Job summary

Hastings Direct, a digital insurance provider, is hiring a Home Claims Scoping Specialist in a hybrid role with flexibility for the right person. You will review repair schedules and reports, ensure policy terms are applied correctly, and protect the business from leakage by validating scopes, costs and settlements.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of building pathology and damage causes and repair methods.
• Strong knowledge of home insurance policy terms, conditions, cover, exclusions and limits.
• Experience using repair scheduling tools and scoping platforms in a home claims setting.

Responsibilities

• Review repair schedules, reports and claim documentation from internal and external partners to challenge estimates and ensure fair costs.
• Assess technical accuracy and alignment of repair scopes with Hastings Scoping Philosophy.
• Identify leakage, over-/under-scoping and inaccuracies in schedules and settlements; provide evidence-based feedback.
• Support assurance by highlighting trends, issues and improvement opportunities and maintain records of reviews and actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to strengthen technical standards and control indemnity spend.
