Job summary

Hastings Direct is expanding its Home Claims team and creating Desk Adjuster positions based in Leicester or Bexhill with hybrid work. You will investigate, manage and progress home property damage claims across a range of values and complexities, assessing coverage, evidence and settlements to ensure fair, accurate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong home claims handling experience, including large loss/complex claims.
• Excellent customer focus with clear, confident and empathetic communication.
• Outstanding organisational skills: manage diaries, prioritize workloads and progress multiple claims.
• Independent decision-making with escalation when needed.
• Experience with supplier instruction/management in home claims is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of home claims from notification to conclusion, reviewing policy cover and gathering evidence.
• Assess repair scopes and settlement values to ensure claims are sound and commercially appropriate.
• Instruct and liaise with suppliers, contractors, surveyors and specialists as required.
• Provide high-standard customer service via calls, emails and written correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records, reserves, diaries and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with teams and field surveyors to achieve fair settlements and positive outcomes.
