Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking dedicated carers to provide in-home support to older adults, helping them stay safe and independent. You will assist with personal care, meals, light housework and accompany activities, visiting clients in their own homes across Dumfries and Galloway.

You will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with training provided and PVG checks completed before appointment. The role offers guaranteed hours and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for older adults in home settings is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential.
• PVG scheme membership or update check is required before appointment.
• Eligible to work in the UK and willing to travel to service users' homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and practical assistance in clients' homes.
• Assist with medication and meal preparation.
• Encourage independence and assist with daily activities.
• Travel to service users' homes across Dumfries and Galloway.
