Job summary

Alpheus, part of the Anglian Water Group, is seeking an Operations Project Manager to lead planning, coordination and delivery of diverse operational and capital projects. The role covers lagoon desludging, reedbed refurbishments, H&S improvements and minor civil, mechanical and electrical works, delivered safely, on time and within budget.

You will lead project plans, manage subcontractors and suppliers, monitor costs and risks, and act as the main customer contact.

Qualifications

Essential: HNC/HND, apprenticeship, technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
Essential: experience managing engineering, environmental, utilities or construction projects.
Essential: experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
Essential: proven experience managing project budgets, programmes and risks.
Essential: experience delivering operational or infrastructure projects.
Essential: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
Essential: knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Essential: strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Essential: hands-on approach and sound judgement.
Essential: MS Office skills incl. Excel, Word and Project.
Essential: willingness to travel regularly to operational sites.

Responsibilities

Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
Manage projects typically valued between £50,000 and £500,000.
Develop project plans including CPP, programmes and delivery strategies.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
Monitor project costs and financial performance.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers.
Undertake site visits to monitor H&S, quality and progress.
Prepare project documentation, RAMS reviews and completion records.
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
Provide regular project updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Read and understand the customer’s scope and develop compliant cost estimates and delivery plans.
Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Assist in preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Attend customer meetings and site visits during tender stages.
Provide practical delivery input to ensure proposals are realistic and deliverable.
