Job summary

The National Trust is recruiting a Holidays Operation Assistant to prepare cottages in Lansallos and Pont Creek, near Polruan. The role is based on annualised hours with a fixed pro rata salary and a 12-month salary paid in 12 instalments.

You will clean and present cottages to a high standard, report repairs, and replace small items as required. PPE and safety measures are provided.

Summary

We’re looking for a Holiday Cottage Cleaner to prepare our popular holiday cottages in Lansallos and Pont Creek, near Polruan.

Salary: £3,315 pro rata (FTE 24,862.50 per annum)

Contract: Permanent

Hours/ working pattern: 260 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

Working days for this role are Monday to Saturday, but most likely Monday, Thursday or Friday.

Start date: 1st October 2026

Internally within the National Trust, you will be known as a 'Holidays Operation Assistant'.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What You'll Be Doing

On changeover days, you’ll make sure that everything’s pristine and ready for the next guests to arrive. This will include making sure the cottage is thoroughly cleaned, well-presented and welcoming. We’d also like you to keep an eye out for anything that’s not as it should be, and report any repairs or odd jobs that need doing. If you need to, you’ll also replace any broken items from the store supplies.

Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided for all teams, and extra measures are in place to protect staff.
