Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking an experienced HNC Tutor to deliver teaching, learning and assessment on HNC programmes in the North West. You will plan and deliver sessions that combine theory with work-related learning and track learner progress to ensure no one falls behind.

The role focuses on delivering engaging sessions, preparing schemes of work, and providing clear feedback while maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body requirements.

Are you an experienced professional looking to teach at higher level within further education?

About the Role

A further education provider in the North West is looking for an HNC Tutor to deliver teaching, learning and assessment on HNC programmes.

You'll plan and deliver sessions that combine underpinning theory with applied, work-related learning, helping learners meet the standards expected at this level. You'll work with learners of varying ability and track their progress carefully so no one falls behind.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging HNC sessions.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Assessing learners' work and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintaining accurate learner records in line with awarding body requirements.
• Monitoring attendance, engagement and achievement, and stepping in early where a learner needs support.

What We're Looking For

• A relevant qualification at Level 4 or above in your subject area
• Strong occupational background in your specialism
• Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve
• Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
