Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Health Lecturer to join a further education provider on a temporary contract. You will teach and support learners across health programmes, drawing on your professional background to help them build the knowledge, skills and confidence to progress into further study or employment.

You will plan and prepare sessions, assess learners’ work and provide timely feedback, while creating a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant health or health and social care qualification.
• Experience in health or care sector.
• Ability to engage and motivate diverse learners.
• Strong organisational skills and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging teaching across health programmes.
• Planning and developing lesson plans, schemes of work and assessment schedules.
• Assessing learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement and retention.
• Providing academic and pastoral guidance to learners.
• Bringing relevant industry knowledge into the classroom to keep programmes current.
• Contributing to curriculum development and maintaining accurate course records.

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Health Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll teach and support learners across health programmes, drawing on your own background to help them build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment.

You'll plan and prepare your sessions, assess learners' work and guide them through their studies, creating a safe and inclusive environment in which every learner can achieve.

Your responsibilities will include:

What We're Looking For

• A relevant qualification in a health or health and social care discipline
• Experience gained within the health or care sector

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in a further education setting
