Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students with complex additional needs in a specialist setting.

You will lead learning activities, deliver pre-planned lessons when required, and work closely with teachers and therapists to track student progress and plan interventions. StrongHLTA background in SEN essential; confidence with personal care and group leadership is expected.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level.
• Strong background supporting children or young people with SEN, especially complex needs.
• Confident in leading learning activities and managing small groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group sessions and deliver pre-planned lessons when the teacher is absent.
• Support students with complex needs (ASD, PMLD, medical requirements).
• Provide personal care and physical support where necessary.
• Assist in specialist settings such as sensory rooms and hydrotherapy environments.
• Contribute to planning, assessment, and tracking of student progress.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? We are working with a specialist education setting seeking a confident and committed Full-Time HLTA to support students with complex additional needs.

About the Role:

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, tailored support to students with a range of needs, while also taking the lead in delivering lessons and interventions when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with complex needs including ASD, PMLD, and medical requirements
