Job summary

Reed Education in Woking, Surrey, is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support and lead learning for pupils aged 7-17 with SEMH needs. The role includes delivering interventions, running small groups and stepping in for the class teacher when needed.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to promote wellbeing, personalised learning and safeguarding in a therapeutic environment. The position is full-time and on-site at a dedicated specialist school.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or significant experience in a comparable role.
• Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, SEND or complex needs.
• Ability to support teaching and lead learning activities.
• Strong safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead learning activities across the school to promote engagement and achievement.
• Deliver targeted interventions and small group sessions; provide one-to-one support.
• Lead lessons when required in line with school expectations.
• Support pupils with EHCPs, SEMH needs and additional learning needs.
• Monitor, record and contribute to reporting on pupil progress.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families and external professionals.
• Help create a purposeful, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive life choices.
• Uphold safeguarding and pupil welfare standards.
