We are working exclusively with a specialist secondary school in Chorlton that is looking for someone to join their team as a HLTA; higher level teaching assistant.
The school seeks an enthusiastic support staff member. The department offers excellent training to support the successful candidate. Candidates should have experience supporting children and a genuine desire to help staff deliver exceptional learning experiences.
Experience in delivering interventions such as speech and language, reading, etc., is required. Emphasis is on targeted SEND interventions at universal, group, and individual levels.
You will work 1-1 with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and lead small group sessions. The pupils, aged 11-16 (KS3/4), have EHCP plans and additional needs, attending a specialist provision due to their learning needs.
Your role involves building connections with students, acting as a mentor and role model, and forging strong relationships to overcome classroom barriers.
This position suits someone pursuing a career in education, planning to undertake a PGCE, or with recent experience as a tutor/intervention lead. The role starts as soon as possible and is ongoing for the current academic year.
