Job summary

Newstead Primary Academy is seeking two Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join the team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will support the class teacher, lead targeted interventions, and provide cover as required by planning.

You’ll also mark work, contribute to creating a welcoming learning environment and help with pupil assessment and home–school links. Candidates should hold an HLTA qualification or Level 4 Diploma or equivalent, with a commitment to CPD and working within a high‑performing multi

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification required or equivalent level 4 diploma.
• Experience supporting primary pupils and delivering interventions.
• Ability to monitor and assess pupil progress under a teacher's guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher to deliver high quality teaching and raise standards.
• Work with groups on specific interventions and show impact.
• Provide cover as required from the class teacher's planning.
• Mark and assess pupils' work under the class teacher's guidance.
• Create an attractive, safe and stimulating classroom environment through displays.
• Assist with pupil assessment through observations and discussions with staff and parents.
• Foster positive home–school links and engage with external agencies as needed.
