Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in Kettering starting September 2026. You will lead learning in the absence of the class teacher, deliver lessons from pre-planned resources, and support pupils across the primary age range.

The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or significant similar experience, a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, confident classroom management, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or significant experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confidence in managing a classroom independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible, enthusiastic approach and a passion for supporting children's development.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver engaging lessons using pre-planned resources.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to raise attainment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to help plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
