The Education Network Birmingham is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH at a specialist school in Walsall. You will work alongside teachers to deliver lessons, support learning, and help pupils build confidence and skills to engage with education.

You will need resilience and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviour, establishing clear boundaries and building trusting relationships with young people who have faced barriers to learning.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with SEMH, challenging behaviour and exclusions are essential.
• Patient, resilient and consistent with a belief in positive change.
• Ability to work with teachers and pastoral staff to support learning.

• Support teaching and learning for students with SEMH needs.
• Deliver lessons or activities in line with teacher plans.
• Provide targeted support to help students engage with education.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Build positive relationships and promote mutual respect.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Support progress monitoring with teachers and pastoral staff.
• Prepare students for a potential return to mainstream education.
