Job description
Join our Team as a part-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Blackhorse Primary School in Emerson's Green!

Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: Grade 8, £32,597 – £35,412 FTE per annum (Actual Salary based on weeks worked and hours: £24,627.80 – £26,754.60 per annum)
Contract: Fixed Term until 31/08/2026, subject to a review of the school’s budget
Hours: 32.5 per week (Monday to Friday), term time only, including INSET days (39 weeks)

The Role:

We are excited to invite a dedicated HLTA to join our dynamic team at Blackhorse Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a recently qualified Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive and effective primary setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support high-quality universal provision, helping all pupils access learning effectively.
  • Work flexibly across all year groups, collaborating closely with teachers and the SENCO.
  • Assist in the educational, personal, and social development of pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Teach across the primary phase and support small group or one-to-one interventions.
  • Promote pupil independence, confidence, and resilience to help them flourish.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess pupil progress.

Fluency Duty

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
