Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a warm primary school in Welwyn Garden City. You will lead learning across year groups, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and assist with planning, preparation and assessment. The role is temporary with a view to extension, starting ASAP/September.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA looking for your next exciting opportunity? We are working with a fantastic primary school in Welwyn Garden City that is looking for a confident, committed and enthusiastic HLTA to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional who enjoys taking responsibility, supporting high-quality teaching and making a positive impact across a primary school.

The role:

• Delivering planned lessons and learning activities across the school
• Providing whole-class, small-group and 1:1 support
• Covering classes when required
• Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment

• Working with pupils across different year groups
• Contributing to the wider life of the school

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as an HLTA or an experienced TA ready to take the next step
• Is confident leading learning and managing a classroom
• Has strong behaviour management skills
• Is adaptable and able to work across different year groups
• Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Is passionate about helping children achieve and enjoy their learning
