Location: Stoke on Trent

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Competitive and Based on Experience

We Are Seeking Two Highly Skilled And Committed SEN Teaching Assistants To Join a Specialist SEMH School Supporting Pupils With a Wide Range Of Complex Needs. This Setting Caters For Children With

• SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
• SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
• PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• Trauma and Anxiety-related conditions
  
  

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support to pupils with significant emotional and behavioural needs
• Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans
• Help pupils manage their anxiety and trauma through positive, nurturing support
• Support with physical tasks and personal care, where required
• Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive environment that supports learning and emotional development
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support teams
• Participate in ongoing training, including physical intervention where necessary
  
  

Essential Requirements

• Must have proven experience working with children with special educational needs
• Ability to commit to five full days per week (Monday to Friday, term time only)
• Must have access to your own vehicle - there are no public transport links to the school
• Experience within SEMH settings or specialist schools is highly desirable
• Knowledge or certification in physical intervention techniques (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA) preferred
• High levels of resilience, patience, and a proactive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• HLTA qualification or equivalent level of experience is an advantage
