Job description

This school is seeking a confident, skilled and enthusiastic High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly and inclusive team. Duties as an HLTA:

• Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, groups, or whole classes under the guidance of a teacher
• Provide PPA cover and short-term class cover when needed
• Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare and evaluate lessons
• Support the implementation of individual support plans and targeted interventions
• Promote positive behaviour and support the emotional wellbeing of pupils
• Contribute to the assessment of pupils’ progress through observations and feedback
• Lead or support the delivery of specific subjects or themed projects
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other support staff as appropriate

Ideal HLTA:

• Holds HLTA status (or equivalent qualification/experience)
• Has strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
• Demonstrates excellent communication, classroom management, and organisation
• Is flexible, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Has experience delivering lessons and supporting pupils across the primary phase
• Is passionate about inclusive education and helping children to achieve their best
• Understands safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of pupil wellbeing
