Job description

HLTA (higher learning teaching assistant)

Role: HLTA (short and long term roles)

Location: South London

• Monday-Friday / 8.30am-4pm
• Long - term / Supply
• South London schools
• Primary & Secondary Year groups
• Students have a mixture of additional needs

Responsibilities - HLTA

• Support each students learning journey
• Utilise effective teaching strategies to engage students with additional needs
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and learning.
• Classroom management, delivery of engaging activities and leading core subjects
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to facilitate growth.
• Cover PPA time, support Teachers on site, lead classes or activities, deliver core subjects.

ANZUK Education is continuously looking for HLTAs for supply and long-term roles across South London. We are specifically looking for HLTAs/ Cover supervisors with SEN experience or HLTAs with mainstream experience that are open to exploring SEN settings.

The ideal HLTA will:

• Have experience as a HLTA or cover supervisor and be confident with covering core subjects.
• Be able to embrace a wide range of learning tools and use resources to further students' work
• Be flexible and available for work (3-5 days a week)
• Maintain professional standards at all times
• Be punctual and organised
• Have a clear passion and enjoyment for teaching
