Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary School in Hayes

Do you hold a Level 4 qualification (or above) in teaching and support?
Are you considering a future in teaching and looking to gain valuable classroom experience?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Hayes, located in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Key Details:

  • Location: Hayes, Hillingdon
  • Position: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
  • Salary: 95 - 120 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Type: Full-time (term-time only)

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Working alongside passionate staff, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups, or during whole-class activities
  • Helping to prepare engaging classroom resources
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment
  • Supporting with assessment and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Contributing to the overall positive ethos of the school

The ideal HLTA will have:

  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a primary school
  • A recognised Level 4 HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence in leading learning activities and using initiative
  • A team-player attitude with a proactive, flexible approach
