Job description

This school is seeking a confident, skilled, and enthusiastic High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly and inclusive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a thriving school community and make a real difference to the education and development of pupils. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as an HLTA:
  1. Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, groups, or whole classes under the guidance of a teacher
  2. Provide PPA cover and short-term class cover when needed
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare, and evaluate lessons
  4. Support the implementation of individual support plans and targeted interventions
  5. Promote positive behaviour and support the emotional wellbeing of pupils
  6. Contribute to the assessment of pupils’ progress through observations and feedback
  7. Lead or support the delivery of specific subjects or themed projects
  8. Provide guidance and mentoring to other support staff as appropriate
Ideal HLTA:
  1. Has strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
  2. Demonstrates excellent communication, classroom management, and organisation
  3. Is flexible, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team as an HLTA
  4. Has experience delivering lessons and supporting pupils across the primary phase
  5. Is passionate about inclusive education and helping children to achieve their best
  6. Understands safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of pupil wellbeing
