We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated HLTA to collaborate with teachers in planning and delivering programmes of teaching and learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes within a framework agreed with and under the overall direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the SLT link, this post holder will be accountable for

  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individuals, small groups and/or whole classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning.
  • Develop and implement Individual Development Plans for pupils (such as Individual Educations Plans) including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent
  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Knowledge of and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection, health and safety.
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a primary school setting
