Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Colne, starting September 2026. Roles are full-time (term-time only) with multiple openings and potential for permanent positions. Salary is competitive and experience-based.

You will support classroom delivery, work 1:1 or in small groups, and assist with lesson prep and behavior management, while safeguarding duties and CPD opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join a well-established secondary school in Colne from September 2026. With multiple positions available, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a full-time, long-term role in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across a range of subjects
• Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who require additional support
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs (where required)
• Monitor and report on student progress and engagement
• Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience working within a secondary school setting is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, adaptable, and supportive approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
