Job summary

CNWL NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a HIV Peer Support Worker for Surrey services in Guildford. The role is specifically for people who have lived experience of recovery after an HIV diagnosis and who can share their story to support others.

You will work closely with the Surrey HIV team, receive supervision, and participate in bespoke training. This fixed-term contract runs for 20 months, with part-time hours and salary between £29,812 and £32,715 per year.

Qualifications

• Must have personal lived experience of living with HIV.
• Willing to share lived experience to support recovery and inspire others.
• Ability to present recovery story at interview.
• Understanding of confidentiality and boundaries in peer support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Surrey HIV team to link service users with appropriate support.
• Signpost patients to emergency financial assistance, immigration matters, benefits and housing.
• Maintain professional relationships with strict confidentiality and boundaries.
• Keep accurate records on the clinic-based EPR system.
• Attend relevant HIV meetings and contribute to service development.
• Promote HIV awareness to colleagues, students, nurses and the public.
