Job summary

Lift Schools is launching a school-based Initial Teacher Training programme for aspiring History teachers. The Apprenticeship route lets you earn while you learn, working toward a PGCE and QTS with university fees covered and strong mentoring in a real classroom.

The year-long, full-time programme includes two-week Summer School (Aug 2–13, 2027), weekly training, and in-school coaching to build confidence and teaching practice from day one.

Qualifications

• Degree with 2:2 or above; History preferred.
• GCSE English and Maths at least grade 4 (C).
• Right to live and work in the UK for the training year.
• Must not currently hold QTS.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical classroom experience as an apprentice History teacher.
• Receive weekly feedback, mentoring, and tailored career support.
• Engage in targeted training modules and network across Lift Schools.
