A progressive Independent School in Barnet is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher for a permanent, full-time position starting in September. The ideal History Teacher will inspire students in Key Stages 3 and 4 with the stories and significance of the past.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Prepare students for GCSE History examinations.
• Develop students' understanding of historical concepts, periods, and interpretations.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the development of the history curriculum and extracurricular activities.
• Foster a curiosity about the past and its relevance to the present.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History.
• Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
• Strong and comprehensive knowledge of historical periods and concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities in History.
