Job summary

Venture Engineering Ltd is a specialist motorsport and high‑performance engineering company delivering precision engineering, vehicle build, restoration and race support across a range of projects in the UK. The Historic Motorsport Technician will prepare, assemble, maintain and develop historic and competition vehicles within the workshop, with occasional support at events and testing.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical knowledge and practical workshop experience.
• Experience assembling, maintaining or restoring complete vehicles or mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of suspension, steering, braking and general vehicle systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing work of the highest quality.
• Good practical problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for testing or motorsport events.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical assembly, strip, inspection and rebuild of historic competition vehicles and associated mechanical assemblies.
• Prepare vehicles for testing, competition and customer delivery.
• Assemble and install suspension, steering, braking, cooling, fuel and hydraulic systems to the required build specification.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair work to a consistently high standard.
• Work from engineering drawings, build specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensure vehicles are assembled accurately and meet the required build specification, maintaining exceptional attention to detail throughout.
• Support complete vehicle builds, restorations and ongoing development projects.
• Install, set up and commission vehicle systems and components as part of the overall vehicle build.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults using a logical and methodical approach.
• Maintain accurate build records and component traceability where required.
• Assist with vehicle preparation before and after customer events.
• Support occasional testing and historic motorsport events in the UK and overseas.
• Work closely with the Workshop Manager and engineering team to deliver projects on time.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues regarding build status and technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.
• Support junior technicians where appropriate and contribute positively to the workshop team.
