Job summary

National Trust’s Belton House in Grantham is seeking a Collections Assistant to help care for historic objects and furnishings while engaging visitors. You’ll work with a housekeeping team in a historic setting, maintaining records and sharing stories of the house’s history with guests.

Ideal candidates are personable, detail-oriented and capable of working flexibly with volunteers and staff. The role promises a dynamic, visitor-focused environment within a trusted heritage organisation.

Qualifications

• Good hand-to-eye coordination and comfort working from ladders or scaffold towers.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to duties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections, including objects, textiles and furniture.
• Keep accurate records and assist with environmental monitoring where required.
• Provide support to Collections and House volunteers as needed.
• Talk to visitors about the work and collections you help to look after.
