Job summary
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Histopathology department. You will work across Conquest Hospital and the satellite Eastbourne DGH, delivering high-quality pathology services in line with ISO 15189 standards.
The role requires HCPC registration, IBMS specialist portfolio progression, and experience in histology and cytology. You will deputise for senior staff, support workflow, and contribute to training and development of junior
Qualifications
- HCPC registered and eligible for IBMS specialist portfolio.
- Experience in Histology and diagnostic cytology is desirable.
- Rotated across the department to provide scientific services for pathology.
- Knowledge of ISO 15189 accreditation is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific services to aid pathological diagnosis within Histopathology.
- Assist in workflow management and maintain/edocuments.
- Deputise for senior team members as required and support junior staff training.
- Work across Conquest Hospital and satellite Eastbourne DGH as needed.
