Job summary

MedicsPro is seeking an experienced Histopathology Biomedical Scientist with histopathology microtomy expertise for a potential managed-service assignment within an NHS Pathology lab. The role focuses on microtomy and routine H&E sectioning across skin specimens and other paraffin blocks.

Sessions are planned as multiple four-hour onsite blocks during normal weekday hours; regular ongoing commitments may arise.

Qualifications

• Have recent Histopathology microtomy experience.
• Be competent in routine H&E and multi-level sectioning.
• Be able to work independently following local induction.
• Demonstrate strong quality standards and attention to detail.
• Follow local laboratory procedures and SOPs.
• Work within the scope of their competence and role.
• Hold current HCPC registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histopathology microtomy including H&E sectioning and multi-level sectioning.
• Process routine skin specimens and other paraffin blocks within the assignment scope.
• Avoid block retrieval, staining, and archiving duties as directed.
• Follow local SOPs and maintain high quality standards; work independently with support as needed.
