An established NHS Trust in the UK is seeking a Consultant Histopathologist for an exciting opportunity. This role offers the chance to work within a highly regarded department that is expanding with a new pathology lab. You'll be part of a supportive team, engaging in a variety of responsibilities, including supervising cytology work, attending multidisciplinary meetings, and contributing to clinical governance. We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant Histopathologist on either a Substantive or a 6-12 month NHS Fixed Term basis.
Our client is an excellent and well-performing NHS trust based near London and was rated as Outstanding in the 2018 CQC Report. They were named number one for foundation training. This department of cellular pathology is currently undergoing an expansion with a new pathology lab, including new consultant offices, with an annual workload of 28,000 Surgical Histopathology specimens (of which approx. 20% are from GPs), 450 Post Mortems & 2500 Non-gynaecological Cytology specimens.
The appointee will join a Histopathology department that currently has 8 Consultants working at this trust. The successful consultant will be asked to fulfil various responsibilities such as:
