Job summary

IDEXX, one of the world’s largest veterinary diagnostics companies, invites a Medical Laboratory Technician to join its Histology team in the UK. You will process tissue samples for pathologists, perform embedding, microtomy, staining and other techniques, and run tests according to SOPs to support accurate diagnoses.

You will work a late shift, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, in a full-time permanent role with competitive benefits and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• BSc in Biology/Biomedical Science/Animal Science/Zoology or equivalent.
• Experience working in a laboratory preferred with lab test setup/run/read.
• Operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes or clinical diagnostic analyzers would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process tissue samples for Pathologists.
• Involve grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques.
• Set up and run lab tests according to SOPs.
• Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment and reagents.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient processes.
