Job summary

Travis Perkins Hire in Biggleswade is seeking a Hire Manager to lead the branch, drive sales, and deliver excellent customer service. You will develop a proactive sales plan, manage a reliable fleet, and coach the Hire team to meet targets.

Based in Bedfordshire, you’ll integrate Hire into the wider Travis Perkins network, train colleagues, ensure safety and efficiency, and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in tool hire or leadership preferred; sales or customer service also considered.
• Strong leadership and motivation skills.
• Safety-focused when handling equipment and work environment.
• Proactive in fast-paced settings with a drive to improve.

Responsibilities

• Crushing Sales Goals: Develop a winning sales action plan and drive results beyond the targets.
• Coaching & Training: Work with the Branch Manager to level up the team on everything tool hire.
• Keeping Things Running: Ensure tools and equipment are in safe, good condition and ready for action.
• Stock Control: Balance stock levels to meet demand.
• Leading the Team: Oversee day-to-day Hire team operations; train, supervise and motivate.
• Top Service: Be the go-to for customer queries and upsell to boost sales.
• Communication: Keep the team and branch updated with toolbox talks.
