Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Test Manager to build and lead the team owning our hardware test infrastructure. You will define and maintain test systems, collaborate with Manufacturing and QSI, and shape the testing strategy for software against real hardware to reliably gate releases.

You will start with one engineer and grow the team, ensuring self-service, scheduling, and runbooks for test rigs while coordinating with diverse engineering and manufacturing functions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading QA/test teams in complex hardware/software environments.
• Ability to design and implement test-infrastructure with a focus on reliability and automation.
• Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines and test-automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the hardware test estate end-to-end.
• Hire, develop, and lead a small hardware-focused test team.
• Define test-system architecture and maintenance baselines with cross-functional teams.
• Shape testing strategy across simulation and real hardware, gating releases.
