Job summary

South Buckinghamshire is seeking a Project Manager to join the Infrastructure and Capital Schemes team in Buckinghamshire. You will manage highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception through design, procurement and construction, ensuring safe, timely delivery that aligns with council objectives.

The role requires a degree-level education and relevant project management experience, with strong communication and collaboration across consultants, contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
• Membership of CIHT/IHE/ICE or similar would be advantageous.
• Experience on highways, transport or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, programmes, budgets and resources.
• Support feasibility studies, design development and implementation activities.
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior officers and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress with governance, risk management and reporting.
• Engage with communities, residents and businesses throughout development and delivery.
• Assist with procurement and evaluation of submissions.
• Maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and health and safety requirements.
