Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is recruiting for four Highways Technology Engineer (ITS) roles across the East of England and Northern England. The contract position offers day rates of £350-£375 CIS and night rates of £400-£425 CIS, on a 6-month initial term.

Responsibilities

Highways Technology Engineer (ITS) x 4

Contract | £350-£375/day CIS | £400-£425/nights CIS

Locations: East of England & Northern England

Duration: Initial 6 months

Hours: 45 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Highways Technology Engineer to support a major programme of technology upgrades across the strategic road network, with opportunities across the East of England and Northern England.

Working as part of an established highways delivery team, you will support the replacement and upgrade of ageing roadside technology infrastructure, helping to maintain the safety, reliability and operational performance of the network.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of highways technology replacement and upgrade works.
• Oversee and coordinate the installation, replacement, testing and commissioning of roadside technology equipment.
• Work across a range of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), including CCTV cameras, Variable Message Signs (VMS), radar detection equipment, motorway signals and MIDAS.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
• Support technical fault finding and resolution of installation issues.
• Ensure works comply with relevant National Highways standards and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate installation, testing and handover documentation.

Experience Required

• Previous experience within Highways Technology, ITS or motorway technology infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of CCTV, VMS, MIDAS, radar detection or motorway signalling.
• Experience supporting technology installation, replacement, testing or commissioning.
• Good understanding of site safety and working within a live highways environment.

Relevant electrical, electronic, telecommunications or engineering qualifications would be advantageous.

Contract Details

Day Rate: £350-£375 CIS

Night Rate: £400-£425 CIS

Locations: East of England & Northern England

Duration: Initial 6-month contract

Working Week: 45 hours, Monday to Friday
