Job summary

A technology-driven energy company in Greater London is looking for a technician to carry out maintenance and fault-finding on roadside electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Copper and Fiber networking, basic electrical competency, and a valid UK Driving License. This role requires flexibility for a rotating 12-hour shift pattern, and the company offers a competitive salary of approximately £39k OTE along with extensive career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must live within a 1-hour commute of Canning Town.
  • Safe and methodical approach to technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance and fault-finding of roadside electronic equipment including CCTV, smart traffic lights, digital road signs, and matrix signals.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on both legacy copper infrastructure and modern fiber-optic networks.
  • Responding to critical faults within the M25 to ensure the safety and efficiency of the London road network.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Accurate documentation of work completed and parts used via digital reporting tools.

Skills/Must have:

  • Proven experience with Copper or Fiber networking (Experience with legacy copper cabling is highly prioritized).
  • Basic electrical competency and a safe, methodical approach to technical troubleshooting
  • Previous experience working in a roadside, motorway, or highways environment (experience with Telent or similar contractors is a massive advantage).
  • Must hold a valid UK Driving License and be comfortable driving within the M25.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (4 days on, 4 nights on, 4 days off).
  • Must live within a 1-hour commute of Canning Town for rapid response requirements.
