Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Highways Supervisor to manage day-to-day supervision and delivery of highways projects across Scotland. You will oversee drainage surveys, trenchless remediation and wider civil engineering activities on the strategic road network with hands-on site presence.

The role requires travel across Scotland, occasional support in Northern England, and working days and nights with periods away from home. Attractive salary up to £55,000 plus a company van and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising highways works and teams on live highways environments.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication with clients, colleagues and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise site teams and coordinate safe delivery of highways works.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, site rules and highways standards.
• Coordinate shift start-ups, close-downs and changeovers.
• Support project documentation (CPPs, PMPs).
• Deliver pre-start briefings, toolbox talks and site training.
• Act as key contact for clients and stakeholders on site.
• Attend site visits to support project development and asset assessments.
