Newcastle City Council is seeking a Highway Supervisor to support delivery of highway construction and maintenance projects. You will lead in safe carriageway and footway works, interpret drawings, and coordinate with designers to ensure quality and on-time outcomes, while guiding peers and apprentices.
You will need strong health and safety knowledge, good planning and communication skills, and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders to meet productivity targets.

You will be integral in making a positive impact to the city by leading in the safe construction of carriageways, footways, drainage work and duct installation; interpreting design detailed drawings in relation to these construction works. Working closely with designers to achieve successful outcomes on all works. You will be supporting and advising peers, colleagues, front line staff and apprentices whilst complying to Newcastle City Councils policies and procedures.

You will be expected to provide a Supervisory role across Highways, ensuring services are provided professionally, to programme and on time. You will have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and you will play a key role in ensuring productivity targets are met. It is essential that you have a working knowledge of health & safety legislation, and excellent planning and communication skills.
