Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure is seeking a Site Manager to lead highway civil engineering works in Exeter, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and quality. You will coordinate site operations, manage resources, and oversee subcontractors, aligning with NEC contracts and project programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing highway construction or civil projects.
• Strong leadership to motivate site teams and supply chain partners.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts in practical applications.
• Experience managing programmes, risk, quality and commercial performance.
• Strong communication with customers, stakeholders and local communities.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, specifications and standards.
• IT proficiency with MS Office and project reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing day-to-day site operations to achieve programme, quality, commercial, and safety objectives.
• Driving a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour on site.
• Building strong working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and local communities.
• Managing project risks, opportunities, and site performance to ensure successful outcomes.
• Monitoring progress, maintaining records, and providing clear reporting to the project team.
• Supporting efficient project close-out, defect management and handover activities.
• Promoting Octavius values and developing an engaged, accountable site team.
