Job summary

Ringway Surrey is seeking a Scheduler to support planning and coordination of highway maintenance across the Surrey network, based in Guildford.

You will manage multiple workstreams, ensure schedules meet operational needs and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

Experience in scheduling or planning within highways or utilities, along with strong communication skills and adaptability, is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous scheduling, planning or coordination experience.
• Experience working within highways, utilities, infrastructure or a similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of NRSWA and permitting requirements (desirable).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence using planning, scheduling and asset management systems.
• The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update works schedules and programmes in line with operational requirements.
• Coordinate customer enquiries, operational requests and asset management system updates.
• Ensure all works comply with NRSWA and Traffic Management Act (TMA) requirements.
• Support operational teams with resource planning and work allocation.
• Manage permitting activities and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Coordinate reactive and emergency works, including 2-hour and 24-hour response activities.
• Act as a key point of contact between operational teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Respond to client requests and support wider hub operations.
• Produce accurate reports and performance data.
• Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
