We're looking for a Highways Safety Inspector to join our Transportation team based in Birmingham. Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is essential.

Location: Thimble Mil Lane, Birmingham – required to visit sites for inspections

Hours: Permanent, full time of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,208 - £28,000 per annum + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Collect data relating to safety and potential improvements to safeguard the travelling public, clients, and Kier, and assist in inspections.
  • Identify defects on site relating to all asset types.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Arrange and deliver enforcement letters.
  • Raise works and enquiries within the data management system.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Lantra Highway Inspector qualification.
  • Able to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize workload.
