Job summary

Ringway Jacobs invites applications for a Highways Resilience Manager in Congleton. You will lead the Senior and Local Highways Teams, oversee S58 inspections, and direct emergency response and winter maintenance with data-driven decisions.

The role requires experience in highways, councillor engagement, and solid health & safety knowledge. It offers a permanent, full-time position with a focus on public service and network continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways role, including inspections or winter service/contingency planning.
• Experience engaging with Councillors and the public on highways issues.
• Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and codes of practice.
• Understanding of highway maintenance methods and best practices.
• HNC in highways or civil engineering is desirable.
• Excellent internal and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Senior and Local Highways Team and respond to Councillor/client inquiries.
• Oversee S58 Inspectors and ensure inspections meet policy requirements.
• Lead winter maintenance planning with Adverse Weather Plan and data-based decisions.
• Manage Resilient Network Officer and out-of-hours emergency response.
• Coordinate between inspectors, officers and senior/local highway staff.
