Job summary

Randstad CPE seeks 3 x Highways Projects Supervisors to manage minor highways and infrastructure schemes in East Sussex. You will lead site delivery, setting operatives and subcontractors to work safely, and manage daily progress across multiple projects in Newhaven and Eastbourne.

This is a full-time, 100% site-based role with potential office visits about 1 day every 3 weeks; occasional weekend/night overtime paid if required. Training and full site preparation will occur before project starts.

Qualifications

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification required.
• CSCS card for supervisory role.
• EUSR Safe Digging / CAT & Genny exposure.
• Experience supervising live highway works including excavation, reinstatement, surfacing, kerbing, paving, drainage.
• Familiar with temporary traffic management.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Safe delivery & setting people to work: lead daily briefings, review RAMS, manage permits, check competency.
• Oversee daily labour, plant, materials, and traffic management; keep records and photos.
• Quality & right-first-time: conduct quality checks, hold points, resolve defects, support handovers.
• Stakeholder & public interface: communicate with site teams, supply chain, authorities, and the public.
