Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council in Aberystwyth invites an experienced highway projects manager to plan and deliver a programme of works, coordinating with Operational Managers to ensure service standards.

The role requires HND/HNC Civil Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years’ experience, a full UK driving licence, and strong budget, procurement and HR skills. The post offers hybrid working, generous leave, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

HND/HNC Civil Engineering or demonstrable evidence of a minimum of 5 years’ relevant successful experience.
Full UK driving licence.
Internal Auditor Certification (can be achieved when in post).
Practical experience in managing financial/budgetary management, procurement and human resources.
Practical experience of managing and effectively working with medium sized teams.
Knowledge and experience of the operational aspects of the identified service areas outlined in the Job description.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and manage the delivery of Highways Projects, including Winter Service provision.
Coordinate Emergency/Out-of-hours response.
Oversee the Annual Surface Dressing Programme.
Maintain Highways Network & Asset Quality Management Systems to ISO standards (ISO 45001, 15001 and 9001).
