Job summary

CSS Recruitment is seeking a Highways Project Manager for Essex-based projects. You will oversee maintenance and improvement works, ensure adherence to safety standards, and coordinate with contractors and authorities to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires NRSWA, SMSTS, CSCS, and proven highways project management experience, with strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Valid NRSWA card.
• Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Proven experience in highways maintenance and project management.
• Strong knowledge of highway works, site safety, traffic management and contractor supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage highway maintenance and improvement works, including patching, PGR, street furniture and road signage.
• Plan and monitor project programmes, budgets, resources and contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with highway specifications, health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate site inspections, traffic management, risk assessments and defect resolution.
• Liaise with contractors, local authorities and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
